Red Rash

The symptoms of heat rash do not include actual physical manifestations if the condition is not serious or constant. This means that the red areas of skin that most people associate with heat rash and that are treated by some cortisone skin lotion are not all that common. Basically, any sort of red rash that a person sees on their skin and that they think might be caused by overexposure to sun and to heat must be seen by a specialist as soon as possible. However, this rarely means anything more serious then that: a red rash that needs some sort of soothing cream.

Unfortunately, there are too many things that can cause a red rash for them to be listed here in their entirety, but the most dangerous on that list include exposure to radiation, food poisoning and overdosing on medication. They are, also, the rarest of causes. Usually, people who notice these sorts or red rashes are diagnosed with something much less conspicuous, like overheating or sunburn.

If the problem is overheating, the solution is simple: leave the overheated area and enter a cool room. Take a shower, relax and stay out of the heat for about twelve hours. Apply a calming lotion and things should be fine by the next day. When the sun is the culprit, maybe you should try a better sunscreen cream or just do not stay on the beach that long.
