There are many causes that could lead to skin irritation and some of them are not even from the same area of existence. For example, if a person is suffering from food poisoning, some sort of skin irritation is bound to appear, even before the nausea, diarrhea and high fever. Usually, this kind of skin irritation shows up on the arms, the face and the stomach. However, if the patient presents with skin irritation, but with no immediately discernible cause, the normal course of action is the following one: request a full blood panel, try to identify whatever is the cause of such a skin problem and fix it. Generally, if the problem is revealed by blood tests, it is caused by a toxin that has entered the body, either by continuous exposure or by accident. Another common cause of the dreaded bumps on the skin is heat rash. Of course, mild heat rash does not cause a skin irritation, but if the illness is ignored and the affected person does not leave the incriminated, overheated area, this annoying, but harmless skin condition will lead to skin irritation. Soon, what starts as an unimportant bump at the root of a hair follicle will gather some sort of puss and will become inflamed. At this point, a short treatment with some cortisone cream will help with the healing of those pesky pustules. |
